Ok…finally sorted through the vacay pics and man – THERE IS ALOT. Welcome to the digi world right??? LOL- and if any of y’all are like me – I keep them all and only delete the ones that are awful. So, to be kind to wordpress and to my fingers and to your eyes, I will break the pic sharing down into 2 parts.
But before I start inundating you with vacay pics – let me share with you my two latest scrappy projects for Sketch This and Random Chaos.
The first one is my layout for Random Chaos #26. The challenge was to use blue, red, yellow and to use buttons. I didn’t have much time to work on this challenge and keep looking at this thinking, I should’ve done this and should’ve done that but oh well. I like it the way it is now. The boys in the picture actually belong to one of my really close friends back in AZ, my Cin Cin. 😉 – The two little ones are twins so she has her hands full but those 3 are the CUTEST boys!! Love them all to bits.
And this card was done for Sketch This #61. This was SUCH a fun fun sketch. I definitely want to play with this one some more. The card says: The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.
The tree is hand drawn and the rest is all October Afternoon. (it’s for my mama 😀 )
Ok…now – who’s ready to go cross eyed from seeing Part eins of our vacation???? First, let me start by saying….we had fun. Lots of fun. The driving for 23 hours totally sucked the big one but it was soooooooooooo worth it when we finally got there. We stayed at my Grandparent’s house in Hereford, TX until Wednesday and then stayed with my Mom in Amarillo until Saturday.
When we got to Hereford, we just hung around the farm. The kids played x-box, we rode the 3-wheeler that I used to toodle around in as a kid, Bailee and Tom shot some birds (pigeons) – which my Grandpa loved!!! And Tom even helped around the house by painting the entire back pagoda deck, fence and wooden wagon plant holder with water stain sealer. Then he cleaned the gutters. By then my Grandma was ready to trade my Grandpa in for him!! LOL – they were so appreciative. Oh, and the girls went swimming at the town’s Aquatic Center. So we kept busy and had lots of fun while in Hereford. Here are some random shots:
Cassie and Rylie found a nest in the barn and kept themselves busy in there!
Haylie got pooped while trying to keep up with the ‘BIG DAWGS” hee hee hee!
Bailee making her papa proud by being his hunting partner!
The 3-wheeler. Sid and I took turns driving the kids around – here’s a shot I got while Sid drove:
Then Cass, Rylie and I went on a “photo shoot”. We each had a camera and took turns posing for the camera. Their fave place? The tree………….
ya…know………maybe I will just post all of them. It will be a loooooooooonnnnnng post but I’m famous for those anyway right? And let’s face it…I am soooooooooo awful at remembering where I left off, etc etc etc. So whatcha say? Can you hang with me a little longer?
Cool…so here are some more shots of our time at my Mom’s in Amarillo. We had a BBQ at my mom’s house one night, I got to meet a very special lady at dinner at On the Border (ahem…. Ember) another night, we went to an Amarillo Dillas game, and we went to Palo Duro Canyon.
These girls had fun playing dress up with me. As you can see though….they HAD to do the makeup themselves….yes, even Haylie. That’s why it looks a little ghoulish! LOL…………..such pretty girls still! It was fun and messy and everything adorable!
My stepdad being “macho man” – inside joke about a card my mom got for him.
Have Dog? Cheap enertainment here. Seriously, all the kids played with Lucy most of the time. This dog is the coolest. She plays soccer. A mini Air Bud!! LOL
At the Dillas Game. Cassie didn’t go – she wanted to go back to my mom’s house and play with Haylie and Rylie.
Here are some pics of our day hike in Palo Duro Canyon.
On our way OUT of the canyon – the girls saw this cave and wanted to hike to it. Sidney and I stayed behind in the suburban but Tom took these shots. Pretty cool huh??
My mom and little Miss Haylie Bug
they all climbed to the top of this mountain which was super high. Haylie kept calling out to Rylie….’SISTER, SISTER’. It was cute.
(yes I did get in a picture for once!LOL)
And here’s Ember and I. Seriously she is the sweetest. We had a great time chatting and she was such a sport since I had the ENTIRE brood of fam with me. My mom, step-dad, 4 kids, husband and 2 nieces. LOL – I really did enjoy meeting her!
And the last of the pics were taken on the looooong drive back from TX to NC. I unfortunately was not there for this trip as I was in Denver, CO but it looks like they had fun visiting the Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN. Wish I could’ve been there too.
Whew! I’m tired now. IF you are still with me and you’re still here and awake, I certainly appreciate the fact you visited me! Thank you all so much and I love all of ya’s!!! That is all I have to share right now (thank goodness, right?) ~insert eyeroll. But as always, I appreciate you taking the time to read about me and my little world. Have a great day, weekend! Don’t know when I will update again. Bailee, Macey, and Cassie left yesterday after their mom drove here to get them. They start school on Thursday….(I know….isn’t it crazy?) Seems summer gets shorter all the time. Anyway, Sidney flies back to Vegas on Saturday as Tom and I fly out to hang out with my BFF in San Diego for the weekend. We won’t be back until next Wednesday. Wahoo! So this may be my last update for until next Thursday. So if that’s the case….have a great weekend and start of next week! Catch up with all of y’all soon!
