I had a pretty decent labor considering this was my first child. We got to the hospital at 5:30 am and they broke my water at 7:15 am. By 5:00 I was pushing and then it was no time before Miss Emma made her way to this world! Emma Jo Lamb was officially born on Tuesday August 16, 2011 at 5:25 pm. She weighed in at 6 lb 15 oz and 19.5 inches long. I have a hunch she may be a wee bit tall
and she is just absolutely gorgeous and perfect and sweet and everything and anything I could have ever dreamed of!
I am adjusting to motherhood and the demands of breastfeeding but so far everything is good! She is now officially one week and 3 days old. We are all a little sleep deprived in this household due to Emma still having her nights and days confused. She likes to cluster feed between the hours of 11pm and 3 am so during this time, she is monster child with the wails and screams. But it won’t last long. My mature milk is already coming in so hopefully now that she will start getting my hind milk, she will stay fuller longer. She is jaundice but during her doctor visit today she is doing much better with it! Just from Monday to today she dropped from a 16.1 level to 13.8 and her weight went from 6 lb 10 oz to 6 lb 14 oz. So we are only 1 oz away from her birth weight!
But we are all doing great and getting along! I am trying to rest when she naps but I have a hard time doing that when I have a list of things I should be doing, but I am getting better at letting those good intentions fall to the wayside and laying down when she does. Speaking of which, I hear stirring so I am going to run before the cries of hunger come on full force. I will leave you with some photos of my sweet angel! Love to you all! xoxoxoxoxo.
these are the most recent ones I took of her on her one week old birthday:
And here are some pictures from her actual birthday and hospital! Can’t believe how fast time flies!
