See, this is why you shouldn’t let more than a couple days go by before updating! LOL – again I have a boat load to say. First, I will start with we’re back from visiting the girls in Mississippi. We had a great time and I am getting more excited about moving there after spending some time down in them parts and seeing the area – *wink*. The area is REALLY nice and not the stereotypical “hillbillie” way. I guess I won’t have to buy a banjo and rocking chair for the front porch after all. Plus, after getting to watch 3 super star soccer players play in their games, I was spoiled. I really can’t wait till that is on our regular to do list. I can’t tell ya what fun it was to be on the sidelines and watch them run their hearts out. What a prideful day it was for Tom and I. It was hard to leave. I did take a gazillion pictures and can’t wait to sort through them. Here is a picture I got of Tom and the girls.
This little red caboose in town was just the cutest. Had to stop and take a picture and um…I took the picture of the girls on the caboose before we saw the sign to please not climb on the caboose. OOPS….but it made for a cute picture! LOL
Next…I have to give a huge shout out thanks to all you talented ladies who applied for the Card-a-licious design team. Janelle made the announcement of the new members after we deliberated for a while on the team. The competition was TOUGH. We received sooooooooo many fabulous entries and I was honored that I got to see them all. What great inspiration out there and I hope those who did not make the team does not get discouraged and continues to play along. What great talent from each and every one! Congratulations to the ladies who did make it! I am thrilled to work with them on this super fun challenge blog for what only but my fave – CARDS! Can’t get any better than that folks! So hop over there for our first challenge that will be posted next week – Yep – Monday y’all.
hmmm…what else. Oh…I didn’t make the Guest Designer over at CMK. Not surprised since I never do every time I try. It’s a little discouraging since I also didn’t get either of my two cards I submitted to Paper Crafts picked up either. So it was a bummer week last week that left me zapped and feeling crappy about it all. But I have to remember that it’s ok and to not give up. Hopefully it’ll happen one day before I kick the bucket….LOL. I also missed a card makers dream day this past weekend…World Card Making Day. It seems there was tons of fun stuff happening so bummer…but I’d rather be doing what we did.
And I have a few things to share. The first is this week’s card for sketch #27 at Triple the Sketch.
I actually paper pieced that little froggy. I am on a kick lately with the googly eyes. I also added the embroidery thread for the lashes. The outline of the frog is actually traced from a wood design found at Michaels so don’t go thinking I’m that talented to have freehanded the outline! LOL – but the shading and piecing I did do. The cheeks are circles punched from a circle punch out of a scrap piece of felt. It was fun.
And here is a card I created for a dear dear online friend Sandie. This lady is truly an inspiration. I adore her. She is also the one that sells those too adorable flowers…check out her etsy. But what’s even more fun is she’s started doing her own sketches. Here is a card I created using her sketch #4.
She has her new sketch up and it’s just as adorable!
Next is my layout for this week’s challenge at Random Chaos.
It was to use at least 10 stickers and alpha stickers didn’t count. This layout didn’t quite turn out like I had thought it would in my head but I didn’t have much time to play with it much since I left on Friday morning. So it is what it is. I think I may go back and fiddle with it some more. Or may not. Ever have that happen to you – one thought in your head and um…what happened once it hit the paper???
And lastly my card for Sketch This.
Well, either you’re not reading anymore or you’re asleep but if you did hang to the end…thank you. Thank you for always taking the time to check in. I appreciate all y’all and hope you’re all doing well. One more thing. I’d like to get a list of you who have Etsy shops. I’d like to add you to my favorites and to my sidebar. So pop me a comment with a link to your store. Ummmm….ok…nuff for today. big hugs and all that warm fuzzy stuff! Peace!

hey Renee!!!!
Just wanted to say don’t get down about not making the guest designer. Lately I’ve been applying for lots of different design teams out there and haven’t made a single one-I get bummed for a minute, then pick up and move on. It’s so competetive out there and I always have to go back to the real reasons I started this hobby in the first place and that was to preserve memories, thoughts and emotions. Hold your head up high and keep trying if this is something that is important to you-you do great work!!!!
